Motivating others

Organizational goals are achieved more effectively when there is motivation

What is motivation?

Motivation simply put, refers to applying emotional tactics to get positive response from people. Motivation powers a person’s self esteem. As humans our emotions means a lot to us because it dictates our actions. We are all emotional beings. When you can relate with a person’s emotions and turn them around for good, you can get the best out of them.

We need to establish an environment that makes people feel like being a part of a family or a cause. All of us need to feel belonging and significance. There must be an environment of kinship and teamwork. We are motivated when we know we are contributing towards a cause or a goal beyond ourselves. Everyone wants to be part of a nurturing environment for growth and development.

We all have needs ranging from basic physiological to more complex personal and spiritual needs. Appreciating and meeting those needs is vital to motivating people. That means rewarding employees for a job well done motivates them to do even better.

A billion dollar industry boomed, virtually by being able to change everyone's emotional state. That is why we go to movies, to feel happy, elation, sad, fear and sometimes even despair. That is why you need to know how to manage the emotional states of others in order to motivate them to do the things you need to get done.

Imagine, motivation as a life practice. Just as you brush your teeth or take a shower each day, you need to constantly instill motivation. It is not something you do once in a while that works. It is something you need to do all the time!

Tip: we all should try to think of new ways to motivate each everyday.the effort always pays off!

Some of us are tough and we believe that motivation is a waste of time.someone once said that motivation is present in our everyday lives;it is left to us to decide whether we want to motivate each other positively or negatively . Positive motivation is important for the following reasons:

1. to help us get productive results from others 2. To help people recognize their own potential 3. to impact in people the belief of possibilities

Little drops of water can make a mighty ocean. Let us do what we can in our own little way to motivate others. A simple ‘hello’, ‘thank you’ or ‘well done’ can go a very long way.
