Installing your
MWS License Manager


Section 1: Before You Begin

  1. Decide which computer to install the MWS License Manager. Only authorized computers are allowed to open the encrypted files contained in the MWS Trainers Kit.
  2. Each MWS Trainer will be issued one Serial Number. Each activated serial number authorizes one computer.
  3. If you wish to install the MWS License Manager on more than one computer, you may choose to purchase multiple-seed.
  4. Make sure the computer you wish to install the MWS License Manager is connected to the Internet to enable online activation.
  5. Systems requirement:

Operating System:
Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7

Reader:
PDF Reader, FoxIT Reader
PowerPoint Version 2003, 2007
PowerPoint Viewer

Each MWS Licensed Trainer is issued their own Serial Number to install the MWS License Manager. Keep your Serial Number to yourself.

 

 

 

Section 2: MWS License Manager Installation Guide

Double-click on the ‘MWS License Manager V1.1.exe’ file. An ‘InstallShield’ wizard will appear to load for a few seconds. Click the ‘NEXT’ button when you see the Welcome Note. Make sure you have all the application closed before performing this installation.

Enter your User and Company name on the text box and click the ‘NEXT’ button.

Select the destination folder for the installation by clicking on the ‘CHANGE’ button. You can click ‘NEXT’ if you wish to install into the default folder.

Click the ‘INSTALL’ button. It will take several minutes to complete the installation. Please do not open any application during the process.

Once done, click on the ‘FINISH’ button and your computer is now ready to perform the activation for your serial number. To confirm the installation is successful, you can find the MWS License Manager in your control panel ‘Add or Remove Program’.

 

 

 

 

Section 3: MWS Serial Number Activation

Open any ‘MWS Power Point’ or ‘MWS Trainers Notes’ files. When you run the encrypted files for the first time, you will get this in your screen.


This is because the license key is not activated, click on the ‘OK’ button and it will lead you directly into the Electronic Registration window.

 

IMPORTANT: Please make sure you are connected to the Internet.
Click on ‘ELETRONIC REGISTRATION’ button and then click ‘NEXT’ button.


Enter the serial number provided to you in the text box and click the ‘NEXT’ button. Remember to only key in the serial number that belongs to you.

 

The activation will take several minutes to complete. When you see the window below, it means that your computer is connected to the Internet and the activation is processing.

Once done, click on ‘FINISH’ and ‘OK’ button. Congratulations! You are now license to run this software.


The above means that the activation of the Serial Key is carried via internet connection to our MWS Server. Once the activation is complete, you will see:


Click the FINISH button, and now the encrypted files are ready to be open.


Now you can open all the MWS Trainers Kit files and start your training.

 

 

 

Section 4: Terms and Conditions

  1. All MWS Content/Trainers Kit is copyrighted and MWS owns sole rights over these intellectual properties.

  2. By purchasing the MWS Trainers Kit, you are responsible for the protection of the MWS Intellectual Property.

 

Section 5: FAQ’s


1. What should I do if the MWS License Manager crashes?
a: Simply reinstall by following the steps are stipulated in Section 2: Installation Steps.

2. Will the MWS License Manager still run even if I reinstall/upgrade my computer Operating System?
a: Yes, the MWS License Manager will still run as usual. In the case where it does not, simply reinstall the MWS License Manager by following the steps are stipulated in Section 2: Installation Steps.

3. What happens if I change my computer hardware?
a: MWS License Manager will not be affected if you change your computer hardware. Such as the following:
i) Monitor/Flatpanel
ii) Computer memory/RAM
iii) CD-ROM/ DVD-ROM
iv) PCI/PCIE Cards
v) Processor
vi) Modem

4. Depending on your computer’s manufacturer, your license will only be removed if you upgrade/replace the following on your computer:
i) Motherboard
ii) Hard Disk
iii) Chipset

5. Can I transfer any files from the MWS Trainers Kit CD to my personal USB Flashdrive and still be able to open it?
a: Yes. But only on an authorized computer. As long as the computer is equipped with the MWS License Manager, it can open the encrypted files from any source, CD-ROM, FlashDrives, HardDisk.

6. Who should I contact if I need support?
a: For faster response, contact your MWS Country Representative or email MWS International at info@miniworkshopseries.com

7. What happens if I accidentally misplaced my Serial Number?
a: In the case where you forgot or misplace your Serial Number, contact your MWS Country Representative. We’ll check our servers to determine whether the Serial Number has been activated, if it has not, then you will be provided with the same Serial Number.
If the Serial Number has already been activated, you may request for a Serial Number Transfer (see item 8 and 9)

8. What is a Serial Number Transfer?
a: If you have activated a License on one computer but choose later on to change to another computer, you may perform a Serial Number Transfer.

9. How do I perform the Serial Number Transfer?
a: You have to contact the MWS International to get permission to transfer the Serial Number. You will then be requested to be connected to the internet using your current computer, where MWS International will then be able to reset the Serial Number. After resetting the computer, you will be issued another Serial Number to be used to activate your other computer.

10. How do I perform a Kill License?
a: To perform a Kill License means you are terminating the rights to use on a particular computer. Doing so means the Serial Number registered to this computer will no longer be valid and you will need to reset your Serial Number by notifying your Country Rep.

To perform a Kill License, follow these instructions.

11. Can I open the encrypted files without going online?
a: Yes, you can still open the encrypted files. You are only required to be connected to the internet when you first install the MWS License Manager, and also when performing the Serial Number Transfer.

12. Can I use the Serial Number of different computers?
a: No, you cannot. You are only given permission to use one Serial Number on one computer. So it’s important for you to choose the computer of your choice before installing the MWS License Manager.
If you wish to install the MWS License Manager on more than one computer, you may choose to purchase the multiple-seed.

13. If another person wishes to open the encrypted files on my computer, does he/she need to key in their serial number?
a: No, the Serial Number has already been activated on your computer. He/She needs to use his/her own Serial Number to install the MWS License Manager on his/her computer.

14. I cannot open the *.pppt files, there is an error and what should I do?
a: Please make sure that you have Microsoft Office Power Point 2003/2007 version installed on your computer.

15. Can I use the Crypted files in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010?
a: No, the Crypted files can only be supported by Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 & 2007. You will need to downgrade to Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 if you have the 2010 version installed on your computer.

16. Can I use the Crypted files on Mac OS X or any Apple computers?
a: No, the Crypted files can only be opened by using Windows Operating System platform. We are working with the vendors for the Mac OS X version and will update all users when its ready.

17. Can I print the doc/files that came with the Trainers Kit? (*.pppt, *.ppdf)
a: Yes, you can print the TNOTES & Learning Journal as many copies as required but you are not able to print the Power Point files.

17. How do I print the TNOTES & Learning Journal?
a: You need to make sure the printer is connected to the computer and follow the instruction below:
->FILE -> PRINT

Please make sure the printer is connected to the computer and there is no printing job on queue.

19. I cannot open the *.ppdf  files, there is an error. What should I do?
a: Please make sure all other documents are saved and closed. Check if there is additional software that is running on the background of your system especially FOXIT reader. Close all the software and try again

20. I cannot install the MWS License Manager.exe. What should I do?
a : Please make sure all other documents are saved and closed. Restart your computer and try to install the MWS License Manager again. Check if you have any firewall or antivirus that is preventing your system from installing any applications.  Contact your IT vendor if necessary.

21. An error message saying "Data Execution Prevention" when I try to open the file.
a: Data Execution Prevention is a security function that helps protect against damage and virus threats in your computer. You need to activate it by following these steps.

 


Section 6: Do's and Don'ts


Protected PDF Files
You cannot:

  1. Make changes to the PDF Files.
  2. Use the ‘Save As’ ability to circumvent the protection.
  3. Print to a virtual printer such as available in Acrobat Pro.
  4. Cut and Paste or use ‘Screen Capture’ on protected PDF files.

 

Protected PowerPoint files
You can:

  1. Make changes to the PPT files using PowerPoint, but can only be saved on authorized computer and no other.

You cannot:

  1. Use the ‘Save As’ ability to circumvent the protection.

 

Other files

  1. MP3’s may be copied and used on other devices.
  2. MWS Learning Journals and Visual Maps are not encrypted to allow printing
